M&W Magnesium-Air generators deliver clean, silent electricity — no charging, no combustion, no grid. Just add water and power on.
The Problem
Whether you're in the field, at sea, or responding to a crisis — conventional power sources leave you exposed at the worst moments.
Who Uses M&W
From remote expeditions to industrial deployments — M&W powers the people and operations that can't afford to lose power.
The Technology
A clean electrochemical reaction between magnesium and atmospheric oxygen produces electricity — continuously, silently, and with zero combustion.
Slot the pre-fitted magnesium anode plates into the reaction module. 100g per set (25W) or 500g per set (140W).
Prepare a 10–15% saltwater solution and pour into the electrolyte chamber. 1L for the 25W unit; 8L for the 140W unit.
Magnesium oxidises by reacting with oxygen from the surrounding air. The controlled reaction drives a stable electrical current.
Output via USB-A, USB-C, or DC12V ports. When magnesium is consumed, simply swap the anode set and continue.
Magnesium is one of the earth's most abundant metals. The only by-product is magnesium oxide — a harmless, non-toxic mineral. No CO₂, no fumes, no fire risk. Spent anodes are recyclable, making M&W one of the most sustainable portable power technologies available. Operating range: −40°C to +80°C.

Why M&W
Rain, cloud, snow, or total darkness — the electrochemical reaction is unaffected by weather. Rated from −40°C to +80°C.
The only by-product is magnesium oxide — a non-toxic mineral. No CO₂, no fumes. Spent anodes are recyclable.
No combustion means no engine noise, no exhaust. Ideal for tactical operations, medical environments, and wildlife settings.
Saltwater electrolyte (10–15% concentration) is all that\'s needed to start generating power. Available anywhere near the sea or from a simple salt pack.
When the magnesium anode is consumed, replace it in seconds. Carry multiple sets for indefinite runtime on extended deployments.
1.6 kg for the 25W unit; 7 kg for the 140W. Robust enclosure designed to withstand field environments. 1-year warranty.
Our third-generation M&W unit is currently in concept development — targeting higher output and large-scale deployment for industrial, infrastructure, and defence applications.
FAQ
Everything you need to know about magnesium-air power technology and M&W products.
Magnesium anode plates react with oxygen from the air, using a saltwater solution as the electrolyte. This electrochemical reaction produces a continuous electrical current — no combustion, no fuel burning, no CO₂. The only by-product is magnesium hydroxide, a harmless mineral.
No. M&W generators are not batteries — they do not store energy, they generate it. There is no charging required. When the magnesium anode is consumed, you replace it with a fresh set in seconds. Think of it as refuelling, not recharging.
Lithium power banks store a fixed charge and must be refilled from a power outlet. M&W generates electricity on demand from magnesium and saltwater — no outlet needed, ever. It is also non-flammable, has zero explosion risk, works from −40°C to +80°C, and runtime is extended by swapping the anode, not waiting hours to charge.
Yes. Because there is zero combustion, no fumes, and no exhaust, M&W generators are fully safe for enclosed environments — tents, vehicles, shelters, medical facilities, and tactical spaces. No ventilation requirement.
A saltwater solution at 10–15% concentration (common table salt dissolved in water, or natural seawater). The 25W unit needs 1 litre; the 140W unit needs 8 litres. Fresh water without salt will not initiate the reaction.
The 25W unit uses a 100g anode set delivering approximately 100Wh. The 140W unit uses a 500g anode set delivering approximately 500Wh. Actual runtime depends on connected load. Replacing a spent anode takes seconds and requires no tools.
Yes. M&W systems are rated from −40°C to +80°C. Unlike lithium batteries which lose significant capacity in sub-zero conditions, the magnesium-air electrochemical reaction is not storage-dependent and maintains stable performance across this full range.
Yes. Magnesium is one of the earth's most abundant metals. The only by-product is magnesium hydroxide — non-toxic, harmless, and recyclable. No CO₂ emissions, no lithium mining, no hazardous battery disposal. Spent anodes can be returned for recycling.
